Full Moon in Pisces: A Time For Healing + Renewal
Hey Ritual Blog readers! Cosmic Lady Six here once again to give you some clarity and guidance for our next Full Moon and astrological shift. July and August were intense months with eclipse season being prominent in our lives and many retrograde planets making an impact on reshaping our perceptions and beliefs about ourselves and those around us.
With Virgo season upon us, we are beginning to shift more into “get things done mode” and we should begin to feel a bit more momentum around accomplishing things we have set out to do. If you feel like you have been in an energetic tunnel where you are trying to work through some stuff, hopefully this shift will give you the boost you have been lacking.
We still have some planets retrograde for a while though- so there may be some areas of our lives that will take longer to sort than others.
The Sun will be entering the mutable earth sign of Virgo on Wednesday 8/22 at 9:09 PM PST or 8/23 12:09 AM EST. Following our Sun in Virgo, we will have a Full Moon in Pisces on Sunday 8/6 at 4:56 AM PST and 7:56 AM EST.
Another notable transit that will be happening during this Full Moon in Pisces, our Sun in Virgo will be making a grand trine with Uranus in Taurus and Saturn in Capricorn. Trine energy is harmonious and fast. This trine, depending on where it is hitting in your personal natal chart, will be here to help solidify the direction we wish to go in with regard to our work, physical health, home, and any connection to our physical worlds.
Because of the enhanced amount of earth energy on this Full Moon in Pisces, we may feel more grounded than we typically do during Pisces/Moon transits.
Pisces energy is mutable water and is associated with our emotional state in an etheric sense. Meaning Pisces expands into the void beyond the emotional container of our bodies and personal existence.
Pisces is the sign of the artist, the poet, the musician, the mystic, the psychic, the dreamer, and the empath. When Pisces is in it’s shadow manifestation it can result in escapism through substances. Many Pisces dominant people have suffered from addiction or dissociative tendencies.
When the Moon is in Pisces, we feel an enhancement of this energy. It calls to us to go to the depths of our being and dissolve any barriers between us and our connection to spirit.
Virgo being the polarity of Pisces, asks us to be grounded in the physical, and to use our compassion, and empathy to be of service to others.
With these two energies balancing each other, we can then construct our ritual practice to honor the need to go beyond our physicality to understand and be compassionate to the world, while still understanding the many benefits of our physical bodies, physical world, and what it allows us to do as human beings in this form.
With this Full Moon falling on Women’s Equality Day, the connecting to the divine feminine and what feminine energy represents in the signs of Pisces and Virgo will be beneficial for our ritual. Regardless of how you identify in regard to your own personal gender, the Divine Feminine is the connection to the void through the womb in every mother.
Women have been regarded as the portal to this shadow realm, which is why women, and female energy, have been feared and regarded as “dangerous” for hundreds of years. Before women were outcasted into a slave or lesser than position within society, women were worshipped and seen as goddess in her physical form.
Ways you can honor the divine feminine within and around you:
-
Altar to a feminine deity or energy that you connect with
-
Flowers
-
Self care
-
Meditation
-
Kundalini Yoga
-
Dakini practice and ritual
-
Spending time in nature, mother earth, gaia
-
Gardening
-
Connecting to your own mother or women in your life/ people who harness strong healthy connections to feminine energy whether male or female physically.
How you can be of service to others around the divine feminine:
-
Volunteer at a women’s shelter or women’s related cause
-
Volunteer somewhere with animals
-
Join a community garden
-
Donate money to causes that support equality or women’s rights
A powerful part of being involved in community or service to others falls into ritual and why we do ritual. Some people only see ritual as a way of getting or wishing for what you want in your personal life, or clearing away negative energy we have fallen into. But ritual can also be used to support the community, or someone in our lives we wish for something positive to happen to.
Through ritual we can lift our communities, and help to heal our relationships to others.
This ritual should be focused on healing and lifting those around you, and how you can be of service to others.

Instructions:
On the eve of the Full Moon, or day of you will want to do this ritual. The personal intention of this ritual can be self healing and purification of the mind, body and soul. We can then in turn use this to imagine this same purification happening to the world and those we love. Imagine the love flowing from your body to those you love, and those suffering in the world and within communities that may be experiencing a rough time.
Make sure you have set up your altar before you begin.
Step 1:
Draw a bath for yourself and put in the herbs and salt. If you have any oils you enjoy in your bath add those as well. You can also charge the bath by placing your clear quartz crystal in the bath or somewhere on the edge of the tub. While in this bath, do a meditation focused around gratitude and self love and imagine the cells in your body rejuvenating and healing themselves. Creative visualization is a key component to witchcraft and manifestation. We believe that we create what we think. Imagine yourself creating the reality of healing and health you wish to have for yourself and in your body during this bath.
Step 2:
Once you are done with your bath, put on ritual clothes that promote healing, comfort, and self love. Move to your altar, sage your space, light your candles, incense, and cast your circle. Your herbs should be inside your cauldron and around your altar.
Step 3:
Do following Tarot spread to see where in your life you can be more of service to others and yourself:
Pisces Full Moon Tarot Spread:
Energy of your heart today
What prevents or blocks healing and growth
How those around me benefit from my energy
How I can be of service to those in my community
What my strengths are in the world
How I can release any fears or doubts around who I am in the world
Where I can become more grounded
What my body needs right now
What attitudes or beliefs need releasing
How I can unlock my full potential right now
Step 4:
Once you have completed this Tarot reading for yourself, take a piece of paper and write down everything you wish to release and let go of in this cycle. Once you have written this, take salt, rosemary, and lavender and roll it up in the paper. Using the flame of the black spell candle, light the paper on fire and burn it in the cauldron.
Step 5:
Now take another sheet of paper, and write down everything you wish to heal within yourself spiritually, physically, and mentally, and then write out what you wish to heal in the world. Hold one of your crystals while you do this. Don’t hold back, even if you feel like something is impossible, just imagine it being healed.
Meditate on this for a good 5-10 minutes or longer depending on how you feel. Once you have done this, fold up the paper and put the paper underneath the blue candle. Leave under the candle until candle is completely finished.
Step 6:
Once you have completed this ritual you may close your circle. Because Pisces energy belongs to the dream world, we may experience some very intense dreams around this time. It will be important that you journal and research the symbology of your dreams to decode the messages from your subconscious and your spirit guides. Place Celestite under your pillow or near your head when you go to bed to enhance the dream experience. Make sure to write the dreams down as soon as you wake up as to not forget them.
