At Ritual, our core values are at the center of everything we do. We believe that we have a responsibility to sustainability, racial justice, and creating a more equitable world through our product and practices. We’re committed to this and we want to share some ways we've tried to do our part.

We take the responsibility of minimizing our carbon footprint seriously. Here are a few ways we’ve created more eco-friendly practices:

Most of our packaging utilizes recyclable materials or can be recycled.

We curate small brands because their eco footprint is smaller. We even use local brands for our shop and office supplies.

Our foraged items like palo santo and sage are ethically sourced from the indigienous communities that know the plant best.

We offer a free reusable tote to those who spend $150 to reduce the amount of bags we use.

From our products to our team members, we’re striving to make the diversity in our shop to be as inclusive as possible. Here’s what we’ve done to make that possible since we sent our open letter addressed to our community in June:

We completed our commitment of a 15% increase in BIPOC vendors. We now have 13 in total and will continue to add more to our portfolio.

In our mission to add more staff diversity, we’ve added 3 Black members to our payroll: Kaye, Debora, and Dina!

As a small business, we understand that giving to grassroots organizations can have a major ripple effect, as a result, we’ve built in philanthropy into our sales. We make this possible by:

Donating a $1 for every online sale to a local organization

Collaborating with a local BIPOC artist every quarter to design a tote where 100% of the proceeds are donated to a local organization of the artists choice

Donating a $1 for every Ritual Box sold to the Loveland Foundation

In 2020 we donated:

$355 to Soil Generation through our August and September online sales initiative

$749 to the Morris Home for our Newton James Collab Tote

$207 to Philabundance for our April online sale initiative

$392 to Black Lives Matter for our June online sale initiative

$116 to the Loveland Foundation during our July 4th online sale initiative

$100 to Walter Wallace’s Family’s GoFundme
