Did you know? Carnelian apparently went viral on TikTok recently! And while we definitely don’t understand the majority of what “Gen X” is up to...we can wholeheartedly support a crystal trend.
We love Carnelian and find it pretty fitting for TikTok, actually, because it’s so ACTIVE. It’s a stone that shows up loud and proud, and in the heat of summer, it’s arrived in the spotlight right on time.

The appearance of Carnelian alone is enough to give us some clues about its healing properties. Some of them are unapologetically violent looking and bring up images of birth and blood. While it can be intimidating, it can also be a juicy invitation to take a closer look at why you do what you do.

July and August always bring up Carnelian for us. It’s the heat of summer, and Cancer and Leo seasons, respectively. While Cancer is ruled by the Moon, and Leo is ruled by the Sun, they actually have some crossover properties...combined, they rule the CORE of our bodies.
Cancer rules the stomach and digestion, while Leo rules the heart center. When thinking about the center of our physical being, we’re brought to the Sacral Chakra region. It’s the Second Chakra, and the center of our emotions and feelings. It stimulates pleasure and creativity. Sensing a theme? This Chakra can be associated with both Cancer and Leo.
This is a time to celebrate the luminaries, and Carnelian does just that. Like we talked about at the Summer Solstice, you can’t have light without the dark, and you can’t have ACTION without rest.
