Jewelry Care
14K SOLID GOLD
14k solid gold jewelry is strong & resilient. It won’t oxidize or discolor over time. To clean, brush lightly with a soft bristled brush (such as a toothbrush) & warm, soapy water
GOLD VERMEIL
Gold vermeil is a thick 14k or 18k gold plating over a sterling silver base. To ensure the longevity of your gold vermeil jewelry, always remove before washing hands, swimming, applying lotion, or performing any strenuous activities. To prevent oxidation, we recommend storing your jewelry in an airtight container when not in use (like a ziploc). To clean, buff very gently with a dry cloth; never use water.
STERLING SILVER
Sterling silver naturally oxidizes over time, but this process can be slowed with extra care. To ensure the longevity of your sterling silver jewelry, always remove before washing hands, swimming, applying lotion, or performing any strenuous activities. To prevent oxidation, we recommend storing your jewelry in an airtight container when not in use (such as a ziploc). To clean, brush with warm, soapy water or a jewelry polishing cloth.
Fun fact: Silver retains its shine when worn often; oils from your skin help to polish the metal and keep it bright. When your piece isn’t worn & is left to sit, it will tarnish much quicker, but don’t worry, it can always be polished up again!
GOLD PLATED BRASS
To ensure the longevity of your gold plated brass jewelry, always remove before washing hands, swimming, applying lotion, or performing any strenuous activities. To prevent oxidation, we recommend storing your jewelry in an airtight container when not in use (such as a ziploc). To clean, buff gently with a dry cloth; never use water.
OPALS
Opals are one of nature’s most delicate stones, and should be treated as such. Always remove opal jewelry before washing hands, swimming, applying lotion, or performing any strenuous activities. If you must clean, wash with warm water and mild soap; never immerse your opal in water.
OTHER GEMSTONES
Keep your gemstones shiny with proper care. To clean, lightly scrub gemstones with a soft-bristled brush (such as a toothbrush) & warm, soapy water. When not worn, store in a clean, dry place.
PEARLS
Pearls are delicate & should be treated as such. Always remove pearl jewelry before bathing, swimming, applying lotion, or performing any strenuous activities. For routine care, wipe pearls clean with a dry cloth after each ware, & store in a clean, dry place.
